The Big Farmland Bird Count has been extended!

Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis have wreaked havoc and frustrated farmers, gamekeepers and land managers who have been keen to get out and undertake the Big Farmland Bird Count.

With the storms behind us and the weather improving we have decided to extend the count until Sunday 23rd February to give everyone the opportunity to take part.

Crucially, the results will aim to determine which farmland birds are benefiting from conservation efforts while identifying the ones most in need of help.

Nicola, your SRFN facilitator will be be collating the results across our Sandstone Farmer Ridge Network.

Please note that we are asking everyone to count the numbers this year (last year it was a little unclear as to whether you should simply tick for presence) – this year we would very much like actual numbers please.
