The Phase 2a flood mitigation measures undertaken on and adjacent to Mill Brook at China Meadow are now complete.

The on-site teams, agencies and partners are to be congratulated.

David Brown, Senior Flood Risk Management Advisor with the Environment Agency, said:

'The commitment of multiple agencies to work together and explore nature based solutions alongside traditional flood defences, is a powerful component of our response to the Climate Emergency'.

The 3 earthwork bunds, appropriate drainage systems, seepage barriers and associate landscaping will complement the Phase 1 works which were completed in 2016.

Flood routes will be reduced by Phase 1 works and (particularly) Phase 2a attenuation works upstream.

Watch this space for updates and for drone footage which will be available shortly.
