In advance of the Big Farmland Birdcount (7-16 Feb), and to identify and improve our understanding of priority farmland birds on the Sandstone Ridge, we have arranged a practical farm walk – full details below:
- Date: Monday 27 January 2020
- Time: 10.30am-12.30pm
- Location: Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Bickley Hall Farm, Malpas, Cheshire, SY14 8EF (meet in the car park for a prompt start please)
- Session Leader: We will be guided by ornithological consultant Seumus Eaves who has worked for many years with farmers and landowners in the North West, and who regularly undertakes bird monitoring and ringing for Census reports. Seumus' experience and entertaining manner should make this a very enjoyable way to learn about the bird life on our local farms and equip us for the February Big Farmland Bird Count.
Our image is of a Tree Sparrow which can be seen at various farmland locations on The Ridge.
