The Covid pandemic appears to have ignited in individuals a love of their gardens and a love of nature.

The multiple lockdowns brought few benefits, but the RSPB Birdwatch appears to have been a winner, supporting mindfulness and wellbeing and with over 1 million participants.

The results of the 2021 Birdwatch are in.

The house sparrow remains the most frequently spotted garden bird but 16 of the top 20 species have declined in numbers since 2020.
