Our thanks to a member of our Farmer Network who has kindly sent us this amazing image of what is literally a dense carpet of frogspawn; spotted on 26 February!
Thanks too for the comment on Facebook — ie another member of the Ridge community has had 'frog activity' in their pond during this last week.
The weather has warmed up and frogs have come out of hibernation.
We can now all get on with the business of spring!
Regrettably, dense populations of frogspawn such as this will allow predators to feed more easily.
