And so it is.

After all the planning and preparation in bringing together at least 21 cycling, walking and horse-riding events, the first Sandstone Ridge Walk and Ride Festival has come to an end (be assured, this member of the Webteam never wants to see another Risk Assessment)!

As a first Festival, we are absolutely delighted that despite an incredibly wet October, we successfully dodged the downpours and as one of our participants reflected ' ...You can't always see for miles, but the Sandstone Ridge is still a magical place ...'.

Our clarion call is to 'Conserve, Connect and Inspire' everyone to understand what this diverse landscape has to offer and from your very positive feedback you have been in awe and wonder of the landscapes, heritage and culture located right here on your doorstep!

From our northern and southern gateways to The Ridge at Frodsham and Malpas, and with Tarporley located at its heart, there really is a 'surprise at every turn'.

Thanks to our sponsors, Gifford Lea, the Successfactory and several of our Ward Councillors on The Ridge, all of whom have contributed in such significant ways.

Thanks too to all our Event Leaders and Volunteers, without whom this would not have been possible.

Importantly, our participants came from near and far. It was a pleasure to share with you what The Sandstone Ridge has to offer.

Let the planning for future Festivals begin and if you have any ideas for future events then do drop us a line — we have already heard from one individual who wants to lead an event next year using the Nordic Walking technique as part of our commitment to mindfulness and well-being.

In the coming days, we will be creating a gallery of the best images that have poured in — too many to include in our daily reviews but, again, thanks to you all. Importantly, it proves that the sun did occasionally shine!!

Kind regards from everyone at The Sandstone Ridge Trust.
