Yellow Storm Warning for Rest of the Week

27/04/24
Safety-First

After thunderstorms and torrential rain literally battered The Ridge last night, it is crucial that individuals stay safe whilst out and about today.

The sun may well have returned this morning but the heatwave and storms are set to continue.

The ground may not only be saturated with surface water in several locations but there is also the risk of loose debris following the Amber Weather Alert of yesterday.

A Met Office yellow storm warning for the whole of England remains in place for the rest of the week.

Both Chester West and Chester East have areas of their Websites devoted to flood alerts with live information.

For your safety:

  • Do not walk or drive through floodwater
  • Flood water is often contaminated so discard or wash and disinfect anything that comes in contact with flood water
  • Do not lift manholes or attempt to access drainage systems unless authorised to do so.
