What a difference a day makes!
Our intrepid explorers may well have felt they were at a Glastonbury-style event on Sunday; particularly those that were cycling the best part of 30 miles and for those who were exploring the quarries and workings of the northern Ridge too!
It rained and then it rained some more!!
That said, cyclists understand that they can be very unlucky with the weather and those involved in Event 3, the Sandstone Bike Ride North, came to realise that pretty swiftly.
What ordinarily would have been a terrific ride through relatively quiet lanes became a test of endurance.
We're hoping that they are now warm and, importantly, dry!
The weather for Event 5 was similar but this was an 'all day' event exploring the quarries of the north.
The persistence and fortitude of the attendees was commendable but eventually they conceded to the appalling weather conditions and hung up their boots and waterproofs.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted the images for these events.
We will be creating a public gallery when the Festival is over – for now just click on any of these images to enlarge.
Our Event Leaders also require a huge vote of thanks!
