The Met Office has issued an Amber Warning for parts of the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge.

Snow will become persistent and locally heavy as it pushes south to north across the area. As well as snow, a period of freezing rain is also likely bringing some hazardous travel conditions, before milder air follows across all areas over the weekend.

Given the severity of the weather forecasts, please check local websites before venturing out since several venues may well be shut in the next 24 hours or so.
