Waymarked, recreational paths covering the mid Cheshire Sandstone Ridge enable users to follow a path accurately and confidently at points where they might otherwise have some difficulty.

Whilst the Ridge is known nationally for the 'Sandstone Trail', there are at least 10 waymarked paths running through the Ridge which provide a visual and scenic feast and which will often direct the walker to more remote areas, including hills, meres, river and canal banks, quiet country lanes and woods.

Views from, or to the Ridge, provide a consistent landscape element to these footpaths.

The 10 waymarked paths in our area, many over 20 miles in length, are listed in the attached article.

Waymarkers are fixed to stiles, posts, fences and trees, and indicate the direction as you stand in front of them; particular to the route you have chosen.

So, now that the days are drawing out, let's celebrate walking on waymarked, recreational paths on the mid Cheshire Sandstone Ridge.
