With Volunteers' Week scheduled for 2-8 June, we'd like to take a moment to thank all our volunteers and supporters of the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge.
We've had a busy year with so many of you involved in delivering our fantastic 'Walk, Talk and Ride Festival' in which you organised and led a multiplicity of events throughout the Ridge.
We undertook a Sandstone Ridge Survey and again you stepped up and assisted in interviewing visitors at a number of hotspots on the Ridge (watch this space, the data outcomes are still being pulled together).
And huge thanks to those involved in bringing VR (Virtual Reality) Tours of the Ridge to many groups and individuals who might otherwise have had difficulty in accessing our magical landscape.
We have continued with tree planting initiatives, not least with partner organisations at the southern end of the Ridge and a number of volunteers continue to work with the Environment Agency in monitoring projects where landowners have installed natural flood management features across the landscape to temporarily 'slow the flow' of peak water flows going downstream.
And, of course, let's not forget the Trustees of the Sandstone Ridge, all of whom are volunteers and all of whom give of their time and expertise without hesitation.
Our thanks to you all.
