Tuesday afternoon saw the 'Views from the Ridge' event, which involved a walk on The Ridge followed by Afternoon Tea at Gifford Lea Retirement Village.

Led by our Communications Officer and accompanied by Andrew Hull, Chair of the The Sandstone Ridge Trust, a terrific group of individuals had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, learning about the diverse landscapes of The Ridge, enjoying the incredible views both within and without, and taking in lots of local heritage as well!

The weather was absolutely remarkable; we were ultimately bathed in perfect sunshine with views of Jodrell Bank, Bunbury Church Tower, the Peak District, Liverpool's Cathedrals and the Clwydian Hills laid out before us.

Gifford Lea have been the principal sponsors of our Sandstone Ridge Walk and Ride Festival and these lucky event participants were also invited back to the Gifford Lea Retirement Village in Tattenhall where they were indulged in quite the most spectacular 'Towers of Treats'.

Laughter and conversation were in good measure as we reflected on the success of the afternoon and, importantly, the unpredictability of our October weather!

Lisa Fearn, Community Liaison Officer at Gifford Lea said, 'At Inspired later living communities, we believe that everyone should enjoy their retirement to the fullest and have plenty of fun along the way. Keeping active by exploring the great outdoors offers people the opportunity to find a new hobby, make new friends and explore their local area together, whilst staying mentally and physically active. The Walk and Ride Festival is a great way for people to connect with nature and conserve the natural beauty of the local area'.
