Major incidents have been declared throughout the region with the deluge of rain which has fallen on ground already saturated by weeks of rainfall.

The rain just kept on coming and Facebook and other social media platforms have been full of information regarding road closures, raised manhole covers, full culverts, blocked gutters, blocked drains and saturated ground.

And then it SNOWED!

Cheshire Constabulary are constantly updating their site regarding road closures.

Please remain alert with the volume of surface water and debris that is around currently.

Please remember too that the peak flow will be some hours after the rainfall stops as water continues to run off the Sandstone Ridge.

We urge everyone to be extremely cautious and to take no unnecessary risks.
