Rock Walk - A Date for Your Diaries

The Rock Walk at Bolesworth Castle on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge is open to groups under the National Garden Scheme this weekend (booking essential).

Established in 1986 by Anthony Barbour and now planted with Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Camellias, it is an established spring woodland garden, well worth the fairly steep climb from the castle.

Paths stretch about half a mile along the sandstone outcrop.

Of particular interest to some is the Lion and Lamb Cave, a feature which dates back to c1800 and from which you can see vistas out from the Ridge towards Liverpool and the Welsh Hills.
