The 'Rock Walk' at Bolesworth Castle on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge will be open to the public under the National Gardens Scheme on:

*Friday 12 May
*Saturday 13 May

Established in 1986 by Anthony Barbour and recently renovated, the walk contains many new Camellias, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, and other spring plants which have been added to the collection. New paths have been created and original stone features restored.

Of particular interest to some is the Lion and Lamb Cave, a feature which dates back to c1800 and from which you can see stunning vistas out from the Ridge towards Liverpool and the Welsh Hills.

This is a beautiful but strenuous walk, steep at times, and only suitable for keen walkers.

Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be kept on the lead at all times.

Regrettably, the walk is not appropriate for small children owing to steep drops down to the drive (minimum age 12).

Booking is essential.

If you would like to join one of the open days please book your tickets via the National Gardens Scheme website CLICK HERE or contact Vicki Ball direct on 01829 782210 or email Vicki at info@bolesworth.com

All monies raised will go directly to the NGS who have raised millions of pounds for nursing and health charities since 1927. They also support charities doing amazing work in gardens and health, grant bursaries to help community gardening projects and support gardeners at the start of their career.
