We are fast approaching the end of a series of exciting project initiatives which have been the outcome of our successful funding application with Cheshire West and Chester (CWaC) as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Throughout the last months we have:
- Appointed a Project Officer to help progress our vital work in conserving, connecting and inspiring current and future generations in caring for this dynamic landscape.
- Held a hugely successful 'Walk, Talk and Ride Festival', during which some 20 ridge-wide events took place in celebration of this 'magical place'.
- Undertaken online and on-site Visitor Surveys of the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge to assist us in future strategic planning; the results of which will be available in the coming weeks.
- Produced two Activity Leaflets for KS2 primary school children throughout the Ridge.
- Delivered a visualisation meditation session to bring the Ridge to those whom might not be able to ordinarily access it.
- And, finally, we are just concluding an exciting legacy project with Gizmo Media to produce 8 innovative 360-degree Virtual Reality (VR) Tours of key locations on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge. VR Headsets loaded with content from locations such as Bickerton Hill, Raw Head, Beeston Castle, Helsby and Frodsham Hills, will showcase our geology, landscape and heritage whilst supporting mindfulness, wellbeing, inclusivity and accessibility within our community.
Our thanks to all stakeholders and providers in helping us to deliver such exciting project outcomes.
