We are thrilled to announce that Gifford Lea Retirement Village is proud to support our inaugural Walk and Ride Festival which is to be held between 5-13 October 2019.

Recognising the 'Power of Community', we are delighted that Gifford Lea is our principal sponsor for this initiative and that they will be a partner on this exciting journey.

The planning is almost finalised, and our Programme of Events is already filled with at least 20(!) 'Walks and Rides', all of which celebrate and showcase The Sandstone Ridge; a magical landscape.

The events are many and the locations and outcomes are terrific, with walks and rides reaching the highest point on The Ridge, embracing the Gateways to the Ridge, taking in Landscapes, Castles, Lost Mosses, Heritage in abundance, Hills galore (Frodsham and Bickerton to name but two), Flood Prevention, Woodland Wanders ... the list goes on (and on).

The Walk and Ride Festival aims to:

• Encourage individuals and visitors to get outdoors and enjoy this magical landscape
• Engage people actively with their landscape on foot, horse and cycle
• Raise awareness and understanding of the area's diverse landscape, rich history, archaeology, wildlife and culture
