Environment Secretary Visits Delamere Forest

Radio 4 seems to have devoted much of Tuesday morning's programmes to matters relating to the environment.

This is ahead of the Secretary for the Environment's announcement which is scheduled for the 18 May.

The government is expected to announce a legally-binding target for 2030 to drive action to halt the decline of nature and wildlife.

Environment Secretary George Eustice is likely to confirm intentions to restore more peatlands, woodlands and the return of, for example, beavers to new areas of the country.

Nature groups have long pushed for a stronger Environment Bill.

It is no surprise, therefore, that George Eustice will be visiting Delamere Forest, right here on the Sandstone Ridge, later today.

We know what he is likely to say but we will report in detail tomorrow (our image is of Black Lake, Delamere).

Watch this space everyone.
