Ordinarily at this time of year we publish details regarding the upcoming Cheshire Ploughing and Hedge Cutting Match.

The Cheshire Ploughing Match is considered to be the best agricultural event and working demonstration in the County.

Like many other events, this will not be held in its normal format this year because of the difficulties posed during its organisation with the ongoing Covid restrictions.

A disappointment to many of our Cheshire Sandstone Ridge Farmers and those in the agricultural industries BUT there is good news.

This year on Wednesday 29 September 2021, the society will be holding a 'Competitions Day' for tractor ploughing, horse ploughing, hedge-laying and mechanical hedge cutting.

This will be held at Ivy House, Station Road, Crowton, Northwich. The 'Competitions Day' is being held as a charity event to raise money for the chosen charities, and to honour the wishes of the late committee member Mr Robert Kinsey.

The organisers look forward to welcoming competitors old and new to this year's match. Spectators are welcome — £5 Admission

Entry forms and letters are being prepared at present — for further information please contact the Secretary on:
