Just a reminder that Bunbury Mill on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge has announced that it's planned last day of opening for this year is on Sunday 30 October 2022.
So, a last chance to visit the Mill this weekend; it's one of our fantastic heritage features and you can enjoy scrummy cakes in their adjacent Tea Room.
Bunbury Mill is located just three miles from the Sandstone Trail, in two acres of wildlife rich Cheshire countryside, and is situated on the river Gowy at the edge of Bunbury village.
Built in the 1840s, it is a marvellously preserved example of early Victorian engineering. Much of the machinery is original, and after 175 years it still grinds local grain. It is currently maintained and operated by a team of volunteers working for the Bunbury Watermill Trust.
The 10-ton overshot water wheel provides power for three sets of stones and an auxiliary drive.
Visitors are conducted on a 45 minute tour of the working mill by expert guides, and can gain first-hand experience of all aspects of the milling process. Full details are available by CLICKING HERE.
