Trustees of the Sandstone Ridge, together with Mark Kenrick from GizmoMedia, have just completed a pilot project in bringing the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge to individuals who might ordinarily struggle to walk on the Ridge or simply don't have access to a car or public transport.
Over the last few weeks, filming has taken place at various hotspots on the Ridge and 8VR (Virtual Reality) Tours of the Ridge have been uploaded onto VR Headsets.
Mark and Trustees have visited OPAL (Older People Active Lives) groups, an Inspired Village Retirement Complex, a SEND School, and also held one-to-one sessions in individual homes where a resident might be housebound.
We've also visited the Tattenhall Park Primary School and, at Helsby, we invited a number of local schools to attend sessions at the local Community Centre. Children were able to experience VR immersive content and learn how to use VR Headsets for educational purposes.
The enthusiasm for these sessions has been overwhelmingly positive. Community engagement at its best!
