With just over 2 weeks to go until our Walk, Talk and Ride Festival (14-22 September)many of our 21 events are beginning to fill!

There's something for everyone and all events are free.

  • We've organised 2 weekend events for children, mindful that they will be back at school. Who wouldn't want to get involved in den building and toasting marshmallows in the wooded areas of the Ridge?
  • Take in the elevated heights of the Ridge with walks to Iron Age Hillforts, Old Pale Heights, Castles and Outcrops.
  • The clue is in the name. 'Sandstone' makes up the spine of the Ridge, so take a look at some of the unique quarries and workings of our landscape.
  • If you're a cyclist then we've organised Bike Rides in both the north and south, the latter being more suitable for families.
  • Be Inspired! For those who would prefer to explore the literary connections between landscape and poetry then perhaps 1 of the 2 poetry workshops that we are hosting with the former Cheshire Poet Laureate, John Lindley, is the perfect alternative.
  • And, do you fancy 'all things minty'? Who would believe that we have a National Plant Collection of Mentha right here on the Ridge – a mere 187 varieties of mint.
