Broxton Barn Owl Group, one of our partners here on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge, have been busy ringing Barn Owl chicks locally.

Of the four chicks, three survived.

Without disclosing any locations because of the Schedule 1 Status afforded to Barn Owls, the three surviving chicks were each ringed with a lightweight metal band containing a unique number to assist in future conservation work.

Wingspans were measured to determine the age of the owl chicks.

The aim of the Broxton Barn Owl Group is to increase & support the number of Barn Owls in West Cheshire and monitor their population.
