Thank you to everyone for your continued support in relation to our shortlisting for 'AONB Designation'.

Now that the dust has settled following the announcement back in June, we are now turning our attention to 'next steps'.

With this in mind, 4 Trustees of the Sandstone Ridge Trust met with 4 senior landscape advisors from Natural England earlier this month to consider the requirements necessary in progressing our journey to (hopeful) 'AONB Designation'.

Following a walk on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge, issues under discussion were natural beauty, future boundaries and governance.

We were advised that the 'serious work' regarding the designation process will start early in the New Year.

In the meantime, the Trust continues to gather the necessary evidence in support of the designation, whilst meeting with our partners and promoting the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge wherever possible.

We will continue to update you.

For information, it was also terrific to read the brilliant piece featured in The i Paper on the proposed new Cheshire AONB, Sandstone Ridge. 'Some of the finest views in England are found on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge'. There were good mentions too for Beeston Castle, The Hollies Farm Shop (Tarporley, Heart of the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge), GoApe (Delamere Forest) and The Pheasant Inn (Burwardsley)'.
