As you will know, the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge was shortlisted for Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) designation in June 2021.

Progress towards this objective has now started, during which time we will be visited by the Chief Executive, Chief Scientific Officer and other Senior Executives from Natural England.

During June the team will be spending a couple of days on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge, familiarising themselves with the landscape and meeting with Trustees of the Sandstone Ridge Trust and some of our principal partners including the two Local Authorities (Cheshire West and Cheshire East) and Bolesworth Estate.

Their objective is familiarisation and gathering of evidence in support of the designation process.
