In November 2020, we reported that a pair of Eurasian Beavers were back in Cheshire, following their release into Hatchmere Nature Reserve on the edge of Delamare Forest.

Cheshire Wildlife Trust, one of our Partners on the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge, has just released information that this pair of beavers have now bred for the second time — an amazing success story.

Their first two kits (young beavers) were born in the Summer of 2022; the first to be born in the area for some 400 years.

Now three more beaver kits have made their appearance, as the animals help stimulate the reserve's ecosystem.

The latest additions to the family mean there are now seven beavers living together at the release site.
