The Guardian has published an article describing a winter walk on the Sandstone Trail between two pubs; 'The Swan' in Tarporley and 'The Lion' in Malpas. The walk passes both Beeston Castle and Raw Head on Bickerton Hill. This is a 14 mile stretch of the Sandstone Trail with the host pubs arranging accommodation, meals and transport.
