The Mersey Forest held a conference in Liverpool today about the Natural Health Service – an innovative approach in Merseyside and north Cheshire to improve our health and wellbeing. Physical inactivity is costing the National Health Service a staggering £10 billion per annum, and accounts for 16% of all deaths in the UK. The challenge is to get people into the great outdoors and being more active. The Sandstone Ridge is an easily accessible resource, offering a wide range of walks, cycle and horse riding routes as well as opportunities for volunteering.
