Welcome to the Sandstone Ridge website. Rising dramatically from the Cheshire plain, the Ridge covers 230 sq km of rolling hills and escarpments, punctuated with glacial meres and mosses. Six thousand years of human activity has shaped the landscape we enjoy today. Stretching from Frodsham to Malpas this is rural Cheshire at its finest, rich in history and wildlife, linked by the popular Sandstone Trail.
The Sandstone Ridge Trust is asking people what they think about Cheshire's Sandstone Ridge and how best to shape the future of this special place through an online questionnaire. The Sandstone Ridge is home for 36,000 people; the location for 1,000 businesses; and is visited by more than 1 million people each year. It provides food, water, timber and minerals, and for many is an important place to exercise, relax, and enjoy its views, landscape, wildlife and heritage.
